Double security
A strong password is good, but it's not always enough. If your password leaks in a data breach from another service - or if someone guesses it - your webshop is left open. With two-factor authentication (2FA) you add an extra layer of security.
Here's how it works
- Log in as normal - enter your username and password
- Open your authenticator app - Google Authenticator, Authy or another TOTP app on your phone
- Enter the 6-digit code - the code changes every 30 seconds, so it can only be used once
It takes less than 10 seconds extra to log in, but provides significantly better security.
Why is it important?
- Protects against password leaks - even if your password is compromised, no one can log in without your phone
- Protects customer data - your online store contains sensitive customer information, addresses and order history
- Protects against financial loss - unauthorized access can lead to altered prices, fraud or deleted data
- GDPR compliance - two-factor login is one of the recommended security measures to protect personal data
Easy setup
Enabling two-factor login takes less than two minutes:
- Go to your user profile in admin
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
- Enter the verification code - done
From now on, just have your phone at hand when you log in.

Two-factor login in Shoporama uses the TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) standard, which is supported by all popular authenticator apps:
