Heatmap

Heatmaps are a visual representation of where on your site your users click and how much they scroll.

Heatmaps show you how your users click and scroll on your site by being very "red" where there are a lot of clicks and no color where there are no clicks.

It can be an easy way to analyze your site. There are different types of software that create heatmaps and what they all have in common is that they require you to add some code to the pages you want to analyze.

This is the part you need to pay attention to. Even though your heatmap can be extremely interesting to look at, many people install heatmap tracking because "it's fun". But extra code on your webshop also slows it down. So you should only have heatmap tracking on your site if you actually use it for something.

For example, you can use a heatmap to see if a given function is being used at all. Or to see what people are primarily attracted to on your site. You should also notice if they click on something that is not clickable. An image, for example, then you should consider turning it into a link.
