Set up Partner Ads integration

Guide to setting up Partner Ads affiliate tracking and product feed in Shoporama.

Partner Ads is a Danish affiliate network that allows you to get other websites to promote your products for a commission. This guide shows you how to set up the Partner Ads integration in Shoporama.

Prerequisites

To get started with Partner Ads, you need three things in place:

  1. An account with Partner Ads
  2. Your Partner Ads product feed set up in Shoporama
  3. Tracking enabled in Shoporama

1. Create a Partner Ads account

Go to the Partner Ads advertiser page and create an advertiser account. Once your account is approved, you can proceed to the setup in Shoporama.

2. Enable feed and tracking in Shoporama

Follow these steps in your Shoporama admin:

  1. Click Settings (the gear)
  2. Click on Feeds on the left side
  3. Scroll down to the PartnerAds section
  4. Check the "Enable Partner Ads feed" checkbox
  5. Insert your Partner Ads ID (found in your Partner Ads account)
  6. Check "Enable PartnerAds tracking"
  7. Select "Sales" as the program type
  8. Click Save

You can typically find your Partner Ads ID on your Partner Ads dashboard or under account settings.

3. Set up sales cancellation (optional)

If you want to be able to cancel sales in Partner Ads directly from Shoporama (e.g. for returns), you need to add your API key:

  1. Log in to Partner Ads
  2. Click on "Data extraction / API" on the left side
  3. Find the text "Your unique key is" and copy the key
  4. Go back to Shoporama under Settings → Feeds → PartnerAds
  5. Paste the key in the "Partner Ads key" field
  6. Click Save

How the integration works

When the integration is active:

  • Product feed - Shoporama automatically generates a feed of your products, which Partner Ads uses to display your products on affiliate sites
  • Tracking - When a customer comes from an affiliate site and makes a purchase, the sale is automatically recorded in Partner Ads
  • Cancellation - With the API key, you can cancel commissions on returned orders directly from Shoporama
