Send emails to customers who have purchased a product
Guide to send an email to all customers who have purchased a specific product in your Shoporama online store.
If you want to send an email to all customers who have purchased a specific product, e.g. for product updates, recalls or upsells, you can do this in Shoporama's newsletter module by creating a segment.
Note that
There is no longer a separate "Send email to buyers" button on each product. It has been replaced by newsletter segments, which are more flexible and more GDPR compliant.
How to do this via segments
- Go to Newsletter → Segments in the menu
- Create a new segment of the type "Customers who have purchased certain products"
- Select the product(s) the segment should apply to
- Save the segment
- Go to Newsletter → Campaigns and create a new campaign
- Select your segment as recipient, enter subject and content and send
You can also segment on products with a specific label or by category if that matches your needs better.
Who will receive the email?
The email is sent to customers with a completed order containing the selected product(s) and who have signed up for the newsletter (or otherwise consented to marketing emails).
Export instead
If you would rather export the customer list and send via your own newsletter system:
- Export customers who have purchased a product as a CSV file
- Import the list in Klaviyo, Mailchimp or similar
Note about GDPR
Be aware of GDPR rules when sending marketing emails. Customers who have not given consent should only be contacted for product updates, security or recalls, not for upselling.
