Attach file to the order confirmation

You can attach files to the order confirmation so that the customer automatically receives them as attachments to the email. This could be an instruction manual, sizing guide or other relevant documents.

Attach a file to all order confirmations

To attach a file to all order confirmations:

  1. Click the cogwheel in the top right corner of your admin
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Under Terms & Conditions you can upload a file
  4. The file is now automatically attached to all order confirmations

Attach file via theme (advanced)

If you want to attach different files based on product type, shipping method or other criteria, you can do so via your email templates in the theme.

In the email template, you can use the Smarty variable attachments to add files programmatically.

Requirements for files

  • The file should be in PDF format for best compatibility
  • Keep the file size below 5 MB to avoid issues with email delivery
  • Be aware that large attachments can end up in the customer's spam filter

Tip to consider

Consider linking to the document from the email text instead. A link to a PDF on your shop doesn't burden email delivery and can be updated without changing the attachment.
