Import categories via CSV

Guide to importing categories as a CSV file in Shoporama.

If you need to create or update many categories at once, you can do so with a CSV file. Here you can find the full guide to importing categories.

Format of the file

The CSV file must contain the columns separated by semicolons. The most important column is the category name. You can also include:

Field Description
nameName of the category (required)
parentName of parent category (for subcategories)
descriptionCategory description (used for SEO)
rewrite_urlCustom URL (optional - automatically generated)

Upload your category file

  1. Go to Products → Categories
  2. Click on "Import"
  3. Select your CSV file and click Upload
  4. Verify that the columns are correctly mapped
  5. Click Import

Tip;Tip

Subcategories are specified by typing the parent category's name in the parent column. Make sure the parent category is created first (or already exists).
