Product variant
What is a product variant?
A product variant is a specific version of a product that differs in one or more characteristics, such as size, color, material, or quantity. Variants typically share the same product page and description, but may have different prices, inventory levels, and SKUs.
Variants in Shoporama
In Shoporama, a product can have one variant axis, such as size. Each variant can have:
- Its own price and sale price
- Its own stock level
- Its own SKU and EAN code
- Its own image
- Its own weight (for shipping calculation)
If the customer needs to choose from multiple options, such as both size and color, create one product per value of the second axis and link them together using "Similar products." If the second selection criterion does not require its own inventory, SKU, or price, you can instead use a customer input field of the “list” type. See Let the customer fill in fields on the product.
Variants are displayed as options on the product page, typically as dropdown menus or color pickers, depending on your theme.
