Import products from DanDomain

Shoporama makes it easy to migrate your online store from DanDomain. You export your data as XML files from DanDomain and upload them to Shoporama, which automatically creates products, categories, and variants and retrieves images.

Here’s how

1. Export from DanDomain — Log in to DanDomain Admin, go to Products → All → Export, and download the four XML files
2. Upload to Shoporama — Go to Products → Import/Export → Import products from DanDomain
3. Enter your DanDomain store URL — so Shoporama can fetch the images correctly
4. Upload the four XML files — Products, Variants, Variant Data, and Categories
5. Start the import — The process runs in the background, and you’ll receive an email when it’s complete

The four XML files

DanDomain exports data in four separate XML files:

1. The product file — All products with name, price, description, SKU, inventory, etc.
2. Variant Types — Definitions of variant types (e.g., “Size,” “Color”)
3. Variant data — The specific variant values (e.g., “Small,” “Medium,” “Large”)
4. Categories — Category structure with names, descriptions, and SEO data

What is imported?

• Products — Name, description, prices, SKU, EAN, supplier number, weight, and stock status
• Prices — Retail price, sale price, and purchase price
• Variants — Variant types and values with individual prices, SKUs, and stock counts
• Categories — Full category structure with subcategories, descriptions, and SEO data
• Images — Automatically retrieved from DanDomain’s image server
• SEO data — Meta titles and descriptions for both products and categories
• Online/offline status — Retained from DanDomain
• Related products — Cross-references between products are created automatically
• Google Shopping categories — Transferred if they are filled out

Tips

• Verify that all four XML files have been exported correctly from DanDomain
• Enter the correct store URL so that images can be retrieved from the right server
• The import runs in the background—you can continue working while it’s running
• Review products and categories after the import to ensure everything is correct
