Delivery Map: See where your customers receive their packages

The delivery map shows, on a map, where in the country your customers receive their packages. View hotspots with a heat map, track today’s sales live on a large screen, and use these insights for marketing and logistics.

Where in the country do your customers actually live? With the Delivery Map in Shoporama, you can see the answer right on a map. You can immediately see where your packages are being shipped, where you have the most customers, and where there’s potential for growth. It’s both a fun overview and a practical tool for marketing and logistics.

You’ll find the map under Statistics → Delivery Map in the left-hand menu of the admin panel. No setup is required: the map is automatically generated based on the delivery addresses from your paid orders.

How to Read the Map

The map has two views, which you can switch between using the button above the map:

  • Heat Map (default): Areas are colored based on the number of deliveries. Green means few, yellow means more, and red indicates your biggest hotspots. The heat map is the best view when you have many orders, because it provides a clear overview instead of hundreds of dots piled on top of each other.
  • Dots: One dot per ZIP code or city. The dot gets bigger the more deliveries there are to that location. Click on a dot to see the city, ZIP code, and number of orders.

The map automatically zooms in on your own country, so you start with the most relevant view. You can freely zoom and move around the map using the buttons, and international deliveries are displayed in their respective countries.

Select a time period

You decide which time period the map should display. Use the quick shortcuts above the map: Today, Yesterday, This Month, Last Month, Last 3 Months, Last 12 Months, This Year, and Last Year. If you want a specific time period, you can enter a start and end date and click “Show Period.”

The “Today” shortcut works especially well with the live view further down the page if you want to track today’s deliveries as they come in.

Key figures at the top

Above the map, you’ll find four cards with the most important figures for the selected period:

  • Orders on the map: The number of paid deliveries marked on the map during the period.
  • ZIP codes and cities: The number of different delivery locations your orders are spread across. A high number means you have a broad geographic reach.
  • International deliveries: The number of orders delivered outside your home country.
  • Not Plotted: Orders where the ZIP code or city could not be recognized and therefore cannot be displayed on the map. If this number is high, it may be due to spelling errors or incomplete addresses in the orders.

Top 10 Delivery Locations

Below the map, you’ll find a table showing your ten most active delivery locations, sorted by number of orders. The table shows the ZIP code, city, country, and number of orders. This is a quick way to see whether your revenue is concentrated in a few cities or spread widely across the country.

Live View for Large Screens

The delivery map features a live view designed to run on a large screen in your office or warehouse. Turn on Live View using the toggle above the map, then click Full Screen. As soon as a new paid order comes in, it pulses on the map as a green dot, which after a moment settles down and becomes a regular marker. This creates a dynamic sense that something is happening in the store, and it’s a fun way to celebrate sales together.

The live display is designed to be server-friendly. It only fetches new orders at regular intervals, pauses when the tab isn’t visible, and automatically turns off after several hours so that a forgotten screen doesn’t run indefinitely. So you don’t need to worry about it putting a strain on your shop.

What can you use the map for?

  • Target your marketing. If you see an area with many customers, you can step up your efforts there. If you see a sparsely covered area with potential, you can try a local campaign.
  • Understand your geographic reach. Is your revenue concentrated in major cities, or do you sell widely across the country? This affects everything from shipping agreements to your product selection.
  • Track trends over time. Compare periods and see if new areas have emerged after you’ve run a campaign or opened a new sales channel.
  • Create a lively atmosphere in the store. A live display on a large screen makes sales visible to the entire team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to set anything up before the map works?

No. The map automatically generates based on the delivery addresses from your paid orders. As soon as you have orders within the selected time period, they’ll appear on the map.

Can you see individual customers’ addresses on the map?

No. The map aggregates deliveries by ZIP code and city and shows only the number of deliveries. Names or exact addresses are never displayed, so you can safely leave it running on a screen where others can see it.

Does the map work if I have a lot of orders?

Yes. Use the heat map view, which is designed specifically for large volumes of orders. It displays density as colors instead of individual dots, so the map remains easy to read no matter how busy you are.

Do unpaid or canceled orders count?

No. Only paid delivery orders are counted. Credits and canceled orders are not included, so the numbers reflect actual deliveries.

Why are some orders “not placed”?

If a ZIP code or city cannot be recognized—for example, due to a spelling error or an incomplete address—the order cannot be placed precisely on the map. Instead, it is counted under “Not placed.” If this number is high, it’s worth checking whether there’s a problem with the addresses your customers are entering.

Are customers outside the country also shown?

Yes. International deliveries are displayed in their respective countries, and the total is summarized in the key figure “International deliveries.” However, the map starts zoomed in on your own country.

Does the live view put a strain on my shop?

No. The live view is turned off by default and only fetches new orders at regular intervals. It pauses when the screen is not visible and automatically turns off after several hours. It’s designed to run all day without affecting your store.
