Price monitoring of competitors

Guide to setting up competitor price monitoring in Shoporama.

Shoporama has a built-in price monitor that allows you to monitor a competitor's price on a specific product and automatically adjust your own price accordingly.

How to set up price monitoring

  1. Go to Price Monitor → Create new
  2. Select the one of your products you want to assign to the monitoring
  3. Paste the URL of the competitor's product
  4. Paste the price string (the current price, e.g. "19.00"), Shoporama will use this to find the price on the competitor's site
  5. Click Save

The monitoring will now run daily and check the competitor's price.

Automatic price adjustment

If you want Shoporama to automatically adjust your price based on the monitoring, set it up directly on the product being monitored:

  1. Open the product under Products → All products and click Edit
  2. Find the "Price monitoring" accordion card at the bottom of the page and unfold it
  3. Fill in "Subtract the amount below from the minimum price", e.g. 1.00 kr.
  4. Put an amount in "Never go below", the price will never go below this amount
  5. Put an amount in "Never over", the price will never go over this amount
  6. Click Save

Note: Prices without VAT

All amounts in the price monitor's auto-adjustment are set without VAT (excluding VAT). Remember to convert if you are comparing to prices including VAT on the competitor's site.

Example: Example

If you set "Subtract the amount below from minimum price" to $1.00 and the competitor sells the product for $149.00 (converted to excl. VAT in Shoporama), your price will automatically be set to $148.00, provided it is within your "never below"/"never above" limits.

Limitations

Please note that

Price monitoring relies on Shoporama being able to find the price on the competitor's website. It is an automated monitoring and not all webshops we can monitor, for example, shops that block bots or use JavaScript to display prices.
