PostNord directly from Shoporama

PostNord is one of Denmark's three major freight operators and an absolute necessity if you sell for letters, small packages or international shipping. Shoporama has a full direct integration with PostNord, so you can offer parcel shop in checkout, print labels with one click and automatically send tracking info to the customer.

Many shops use both PostNord and GLS to give customers a choice of delivery locations. Others only use PostNord, especially if they send many small parcels or letters. Both are strongly supported by Shoporama.

How the PostNord integration works

The integration runs via PostNord's API. When a customer places an order with PostNord shipping:

  1. The customer selects the delivery method (home delivery, parcel shop or other)
  2. If parcel shop, the customer selects the nearest PostNord parcel shop directly in the checkout
  3. The order is created in Shoporama with delivery method and parcel shop info
  4. Go to the order list and select one or more orders
  5. Click Print labels and parcel labels are automatically generated via PostNord
  6. Tracking number is saved on the order and sent to the customer via email

For international shipments, customs information is automatically filled in based on your products (country of origin, item code, weight).

What do you get as a store owner?

  • Parcel shop selector in checkout. The customer selects the nearest PostNord parcel shop directly in checkout. Reduces friction and interrupted purchases.
  • Label printing from the order list. Select orders and generate parcel labels with one click. Print in bulk for daily shipments.
  • International shipping with customs data. If you're shipping outside the EU, the label automatically contains the necessary customs information including country of origin and item code.
  • Return labels. Generate return labels either to include in the package or send separately to the customer upon return.
  • Tracking directly to the customer. Tracking number is automatically sent in the shipping email. The customer clicks directly to PostNord tracking.
  • Service codes and delivery types. You can set up different service codes (e.g. private, business, Saturday delivery) so that the customer gets the relevant choices at checkout.

How to get started

  1. Create a PostNord agreement if you don't have one. PostNord typically approves in 3 to 7 business days.
  2. Receive your Party ID and Issuer Code from PostNord.
  3. Write to support@shoporama.dk and provide your PostNord credentials as well as your company address, postal code and EORI/VAT number.
  4. We will activate the PostNord integration on your Shoporama shop typically within one business day.
  5. Set up PostNord as a delivery method in admin: select parcel shop, home delivery, international services, etc.
  6. Test with a test order and print a label.

What you need to be aware of

The PostNord integration is comprehensive and reliable, but there are a few things to remember:

  • Manual activation. Unlike QuickPay payment, for example, which can be activated with one click, the PostNord integration requires our team to activate it. This is because the API requires specific setup. However, it only takes one business day.
  • International customs information. If you're shipping outside the EU, your products must have the correct commodity code (HS code) and country of origin. This can take time to set up for a large product catalog. Read your PostNord guide for the latest rules.
  • Service codes must match the agreement. You can only use the service codes agreed in your PostNord agreement. If a code doesn't work, the error is typically in the agreement, not the integration.

Frequently asked questions about PostNord in the online shop

Should I choose between PostNord direct or Shipmondo?

What happens if the label cannot be printed?

First check that the PostNord agreement is active and the service code is correct. If the error persists, contact support@shoporama.dk with the order info and we will help.

Can I send letters with the PostNord integration?

Yes, you can. Many shops use PostNord for smaller shipments where letters are sufficient. You set up letter mail as a separate delivery method with a lower shipping price.

Is the parcel shop automatically transferred to the label?

Yes, it will. Once the customer has selected a parcel shop in checkout, the selection is saved on the order and automatically used when the label is generated.

What do I do for international orders without customs data?

You need to ensure that your products have the item code and country of origin set. Once these are in place, the customs information is automatically filled in on the label. You rarely need to intervene manually.

Can the customer change the shipping location after the order has been placed?

This requires you to edit the order in the Shoporama admin and generate a new label. This is a minor task, but cannot be done automatically by the customer.

How long does it take to get PostNord live?

The PostNord agreement takes 3 to 7 business days. The actual activation in Shoporama takes one business day once we have your credentials. Overall, you can be ready within 4 to 10 business days.

How much does PostNord shipping cost?

The price is agreed directly between you and PostNord. It depends on volume, weight and your agreement. Shoporama does not affect the price.

Can I print multiple orders' labels at once?

Yes, you can. Select multiple orders from the order list and print them together. This is the fastest way to handle many parcels going out on the same day.
