Replacement
An exchange is when a customer swaps a purchased item for another one—for example, a different size, color, or an entirely different product—instead of returning the item and getting a refund. For the online store, an exchange is often preferable to a refund because the revenue stays with the store, and the customer gets the right item more quickly.
In Shoporama, customers can initiate an exchange themselves in the Returns Center: they can select a new size or a different product, after which any price difference is automatically settled via a payment link (if the new item is more expensive) or a store credit (if the new item is less expensive). Read more in the article “Returns Center.”
The online store determines the flexibility of its exchange policy. If the store pays for return shipping, it may require the customer to combine all items into a single exchange per order, so that the same item isn’t exchanged over and over again. The customer can always choose a standard return instead.
