B2B sales in Shoporama

How to sell to businesses (B2B) and public institutions (B2G) in Shoporama with CVR, EAN and differentiated VAT.

Reading time: approx. {eight} minutes
Shopejer

Shoporama supports business-to-business (B2B) sales, so you can sell to private customers, businesses, and government agencies from the same online store. This article explains the B2B features in Shoporama.

Customer types in checkout

Shoporama supports three customer types in checkout:

  • B2C (Private) - Private customers. Enabled by default.
  • B2B (Business) - Business customers with a CVR number.
  • B2G (Public) - Public institutions with EAN number.

You can enable and disable the individual customer types in your online shop checkout settings. If you only have B2C enabled, your customers will not be able to enter a CVR or EAN.

B2B fields

When B2B is enabled, the following additional fields will appear in the checkout:

  • Company name - Company name
  • CVR number - Required for B2B customers
  • EAN number - Used for B2G (public procurement)
  • EAN reference - Optional reference field for EAN orders

These fields are saved both on the order and on the customer profile, so the customer doesn't have to fill them in again for the next purchase.

VAT management for B2B

Shoporama automatically handles VAT based on customer type and country. Under Settings → Countries you can set for each country:

  • B2B VAT rate - The VAT rate for business customers in that country
  • B2C VAT rate - The VAT rate for private customers
  • B2B VAT zone - Whether the country is home, EU or international (for B2B)
  • VAT zone B2C - Whether the country is home, EU or international (for B2C)

When a customer enters a VAT number, Shoporama automatically uses the B2B VAT rate for the selected country. This makes it easy to handle VAT-free sales to EU businesses (reverse charge).

E-conomic integration with B2B

If you use E-conomic as your accounting system, Shoporama automatically supports the separation of B2B and B2C customers:

  • Debtor groups: You can set separate debtor groups for private and business customers.
  • VAT zone: The correct VAT zone (home/EU/foreign) is automatically set on the invoice based on the B2B/B2C settings for the customer's country.
  • EAN number: Transferred to E-conomic so that it appears on the invoice.
  • Company name: Used as a contact name in E-conomic for B2B customers.

Show prices without VAT

Many B2B shops prefer to show prices without VAT. See the article Show prices incl. VAT in the backend for setting options.

Shipping and delivery for B2B

The company name is automatically used in shipments via PostNord, GLS and other shipping providers. The company name appears as the primary name on package labels, while the contact person's name appears as the secondary name.

How to enable B2B

  1. Go to your online shop settings in admin.
  2. Find the checkout settings section.
  3. Enable B2B (Business) and/or B2G (Public).
  4. Set up VAT rates and VAT zones under Countries for the relevant countries.
  5. If you use E-conomic, set up separate debtor groups for private and business customers.
