Cancel your Shoporama subscription

To cancel your Shoporama subscription: send an email to support@shoporama.dk. Read about the notice period and what you need to prepare beforehand.

If you want to cancel your Shoporama subscription, you can do so by sending an email to support@shoporama.dk. The termination is handled manually by the support team, and there is no button in the admin that you can press yourself. This gives us the opportunity to check if you would rather pause the shop or move data, for example.

How to cancel

  1. Send an email to support@shoporama.dk from the email address listed as owner on the shop
  2. Clearly state that you want to cancel the subscription and include the shop name or URL
  3. Please tell us why: it helps us improve Shoporama and you avoid us asking questions
  4. We will confirm the cancellation and give you an end date

What should be in the email?

  • Shop name and URL: so we can find the right one
  • Owner name and contact person: whoever has the right to cancel
  • Desired termination date: or write 'as soon as possible'
  • Possible reason: optional, but helps us

Tip: Find your contact details and see who the owner is by going to Settings → Company details in admin. Use the email address listed here when sending the notice.

Notice of termination

A Shoporama subscription is billed monthly. When you cancel, the subscription will run until the end of the current payment period and will not be renewed thereafter. In other words, you don't pay for time after the current period has ended. If you cancel in the middle of a period, there is no refund for the remaining part.

Before you cancel

Take a moment to make sure you have what you need before the shop closes:

  • Back up data: export products, orders and customers from the relevant export features in the admin
  • Download invoices: save your Shoporama invoices if you need them for accounting purposes
  • Download your theme: if you have customized your theme, you can download the files via SFTP
  • Transfer your domain: point your domain away from Shoporama if you want to use it elsewhere
  • Cancel integrations: e.g. Shipmondo, e-conomic, Klaviyo and other services linked to the shop

What happens after the termination?

  • The shop continues to run until the payment period expires
  • After that, the shop is closed and is no longer available on your URL
  • We store data for a period of time so we can retrieve it again if you change your mind
  • After a period of time, data is permanently deleted

Note: If you just want to remove the automatic card subscription (without closing the shop), you can do it yourself under Settings → Company details. This does not pause the shop and does not cancel the subscription, but means that you will have to pay the invoice yourself next time.

Alternatives to termination

If you just need a break, let us know in the email. In some cases, we can offer a break or a lower subscription, for example if you want to keep access to your data without having the shop open for customers. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't there a 'Cancel' button in the admin?

We handle terminations manually to help you on your way. Many merchants have questions about data, integrations or domain and we'd rather spend time helping than doing it automatically.

Do I get a refund for the rest of the term?

No, there are no refunds for the remainder of an already paid period. However, the shop will continue to run for the period you have paid for.

Can I undo my cancellation?

Write to us as soon as you can. Before the shop is closed and data deleted, we can usually roll back the termination. Once data is deleted, we cannot retrieve it again.

How do I backup my orders and customers?

In admin, you can export orders from Orders and customers from Customers. Products are exported from Products. The export is downloaded as a CSV that you can open in Excel or import to a new system.

What happens to my domain?

You own the domain yourself with your domain provider. When the shop closes, the domain will no longer point to Shoporama. You can move it to another provider or a new shop by updating the DNS at your domain provider.

What about my invoices from Shoporama: can I still download them?

Download them while you still have admin access. Once the shop is closed, you can only get invoices by contacting support.

What about subscriptions to integrations like Shipmondo or Klaviyo?

You cancel them yourself with the provider in question. Shoporama has no access to close accounts with external services.
