From June 19, 2026, the Consumer Contracts Act will be tightened so that Danish webshops must offer a digital withdrawal function. Consumers must be able to cancel their purchase online via a clear and easily accessible function, not just via email or a paper form. The rule stems from EU Directive 2023/2673 and applies from the same date throughout the EU.
What does the new law require?
- An online withdrawal function that is easily accessible throughout the entire withdrawal period.
- A two-step process so the customer doesn't accidentally cancel.
- A confirmation to the customer on a durable medium, typically email.
- Canceling must be at least as easy as buying.
Shoporama is ready without setup
You don't have to build anything yourself. The digital withdrawal function is part of the platform and works in all webshops. The customer cancels in two steps, the order is automatically flagged and both customer and store are notified. You decide how to proceed, so it does not replace your overview of refunds and returns.
