AI in the webshop

AI (artificial intelligence) is used in webshops to write product descriptions, optimize SEO, provide customer support and - with MCP - manage the store itself via chat. Shoporama has AI built in at multiple levels.

What is AI used for in a webshop?

AI has gone from being a buzzword to a real tool in e-commerce. The most common uses:

  • Product texts - generate descriptions, SEO titles and meta-descriptions automatically
  • Customer support - chatbots that answer common questions
  • Personalization - show relevant products based on behavior
  • Operation via chat - control the entire shop by typing to an AI (the latest addition, powered by MCP)
  • Image processing - remove backgrounds, generate product photos, optimize for Google Shopping

AI in Shoporama

Shoporama offers AI on two levels:

1. built-in AI copywriting

Directly in the editor, you get help writing product descriptions, blog posts, meta titles and meta descriptions. The AI is trained on e-commerce and knows Shoporama's structure.

2. Webshop controlled by Claude

With Shoporama's MCP integration, you can connect your shop with Claude (or another MCP-compatible AI) and control the entire store by chatting. Create products, campaigns and blog posts, edit the front page, get statistics and much more - all by typing in Danish.

Should I use AI in my online store?

Yes, but use it where it provides the most value. AI is strongest for:

  • Repetitive tasks (write 500 product texts)
  • Quick experiments (create 5 different versions of a campaign)
  • Statistics and analytics (find patterns in sales figures)
  • Operations when you're busy (create a discount code, update prices)

AI is weaker for:

  • Strategic decisions that require industry knowledge about your store
  • Creative choices where "feel" matters more than logic
  • Sensitive customer communication where empathy is important

Security and control
