AI in the webshop
AI (artificial intelligence) is used in online stores to write product descriptions, optimize SEO, create newsletters, and—with MCP—manage the store itself via chat. Shoporama has AI built in at multiple levels.
What is AI used for in an online store?
AI has evolved from being a buzzword to becoming a real-world tool in e-commerce. The most common uses:
- Product descriptions — automatically generate descriptions, SEO titles, and meta descriptions
- Customer support — chatbots that answer common questions
- Personalization — display relevant products based on behavior
- Chat-based operations — manage the entire store by chatting with an AI (the latest innovation, powered by MCP)
- Image processing — remove backgrounds, generate product photos, optimize for Google Shopping
AI in Shoporama
Shoporama offers AI at three levels. Get the full overview on the Webshop with AI page.
1. Built-in AI copywriter
Right in the editor, you’ll get help writing product descriptions, blog posts, meta titles, and meta descriptions. The AI is trained on e-commerce and understands Shoporama’s structure.
2. AI-Generated Newsletters
Describe your newsletter in Danish, and the AI will gather the right modules and products to create a finished draft. The AI never sends the newsletter on its own—you review it and click “Send.” Read “Build Newsletters with AI.”
3. Online Store Managed by Claude
With Shoporama’s MCP integration, you can connect your store to Claude (or another MCP-compatible AI) and manage your entire store via chat. You can create products, campaigns, and blog posts, edit the homepage, view statistics, and much more—all by typing in Danish.
Read “Online Store with Claude” for specific examples and setup instructions.
Should I use AI in my online store?
Yes, but use it where it adds the most value. AI is most effective at:
- Repetitive tasks (writing 500 product descriptions)
- Quick experiments (creating 5 different versions of a campaign)
- Statistics and analysis (identifying patterns in sales figures)
- Day-to-day operations when you’re busy (creating a discount code, updating prices)
AI is less effective at:
- Strategic decisions that require industry-specific knowledge about your particular store
- Creative choices where “feel” matters more than logic
- Sensitive customer communication where empathy is important
Security and control
When you use AI in your online store—especially when it has access to modify data—it’s important to have a firm grasp of permissions, logging, and how your customer data is processed. Shoporama’s MCP integration includes OAuth 2.0, audit logs, and full revocation capabilities. Learn more at Webshop with Claude.
