One Inventory, Multiple Stores
When you run multiple online stores, it’s often the same products that are sold across all of them. With shared inventory in Shoporama, all your stores automatically draw from the same inventory. This means you only need to update inventory in one place—and all stores stay in sync.
Automatic real-time synchronization
If you have 21 units of a product in stock and sell two of them in the Danish store, the Norwegian and Swedish stores will immediately show that there are only 19 left. There’s no delay—inventory is updated the moment the order is placed.
This eliminates the risk of overselling, where two customers each buy the last item in their respective stores. With shared inventory, that simply can’t happen.
Perfect for international expansion
Shared inventory is ideal when you want to expand into new markets. You can have a Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian store—all with local domains, languages, and prices—but with a shared inventory. This makes it easy to scale your business without increasing the complexity of your inventory management.
Flexible product selection
Even though the warehouse is shared, you don’t have to sell all products in all stores. You’re free to choose which products should be available in which stores—for example, you can sell heavy products only in the Danish store, where shipping costs are affordable.
A single consolidated inventory figure for accounting
Each store displays the full value of the shared inventory, since the items are actually for sale in each store. If you combine the stores yourself, the shared inventory will therefore be counted multiple times. Instead, you’ll find the total inventory value on the Shared Inventory tab under Statistics → Inventory Statistics. Here, an item that appears in multiple shops is counted only once, even when the shops do not carry exactly the same items. Select a date, such as December 31, and download all the items as a CSV file for your accountant. The total figure requires that the shops use the same currency.
The tab also shows items where the quantity or cost price differs across the shops, so you can correct them before using the figure. Read more in Calculating Inventory Value.
Integrate with Accounting
If you use e-conomic, you can let e-conomic manage your inventory. This is convenient if you also sell outside your online store—for example, B2B over the phone. Shoporama pulls inventory status directly from e-conomic, so your inventory is always accurate regardless of the sales channel.
