Protect your webshop from spam orders
Guide to protecting your Shoporama webshop from spam orders and fraud using blacklist, captcha and 3D Secure.
Spam orders and fake orders can be time-consuming to deal with. Shoporama has several tools to help you limit unwanted orders.
Blacklist
The blacklist feature allows you to block orders from specific email addresses, phone numbers or IP addresses. Blocked customers are silently sent back to the cart without an error message.

Captcha
You can enable captcha protection on checkout and contact forms to prevent bots from creating automated orders. Read more in the article Custom design on captcha.
3D Secure
3D Secure (Verified by Visa / Mastercard SecureCode) is an additional security check that requires the customer to verify with their bank. This significantly reduces fraud. Read more in the article 3D Secure on QuickPay.
General tips
- Watch out for orders from unusual email addresses or with large amounts
- Never withdraw payment until you have verified that the order is genuine
- If you see a pattern of spam orders (e.g. same email domain), use the blacklist
- Consider enabling "only once per customer" on gift cards to prevent abuse
