Move your shop to your own domain

Guide to moving your Shoporama online store to your own domain with DNS setup.

When your demo shop is ready to go live, you need to move it to your own domain. There are several ways to do this - here we go through the different options.

Option 1: Buy the domain via Shoporama

The easiest option is to buy your domain directly through Shoporama. We take care of all the technicalities and your domain is ready to use right away.

  1. Contact us with the domain you want
  2. We register the domain and connect it to your shop
  3. Your shop is ready on the new domain

Option 2: Transfer an existing domain

If you already have a domain with another provider, point the domain's DNS to Shoporama's servers:

  1. Log in to your domain provider
  2. Point the domain's A-record to Shoporama's IP address (we provide it)
  3. Alternatively: Point the domain's nameservers to Shoporama's nameservers
  4. Contact us to map the domain to your shop

Option 3: Transfer the domain to Shoporama

You can also transfer your domain entirely to Shoporama. The advantage is that we manage everything for you - DNS, renewal, etc.

  1. Get your auth code from your current provider
  2. Send it to us and we will initiate the transfer
  3. Approve the transfer (you will receive an email)

SSL certificate

Shoporama automatically installs a free SSL certificate (HTTPS) on your domain when it is connected to your shop. You don't need to do anything.

Troubleshooting

  • Domain not showing your shop? - DNS changes can take up to 24-48 hours to take effect
  • SSL not working? - The certificate installs automatically, but it can take up to an hour after the DNS change
  • Not sure how to proceed? - Contact us and we'll walk you through the process
