Set up GLS integration

Guide to setting up GLS integration in Shoporama so you can print GLS labels directly.

Shopejer

GLS is one of the most widely used shipping providers in Denmark. In Shoporama, you can integrate GLS in two ways: directly from Shoporama or via GLS Uniconnect. Here, we’ll walk you through both options.

Option 1: Print Directly from Shoporama

With this option, you generate and print shipping labels directly from Shoporama’s order management system.

You’ll need the following from your GLS agreement:

  • API Username
  • API Password
  • Customer ID (typically the same as your username)
  • Contact ID

Setup:

  1. Go to Delivery → Setup in the admin menu
  2. Check the box next to GLS to expand the GLS section
  3. Fill in the API Username, API Password, Customer ID, and Contact ID fields
  4. Click Save

Find your Contact ID

Log in to GLS and click "Create Labels." At the bottom of the page, you'll see "Sender No." The last row of numbers/letters after your username is your Contact ID.

Sender Name on Return Labels

In the same GLS section, you’ll find four fields for the sender: Sender Name, Sender Address, ZIP Code, and City. These determine the name and address that appear on your GLS return labels—that is, where the customer sends the package back to.

The fields are empty by default, in which case the name and address from your company profile will be used. This information is already displayed as gray tooltip text in the field, so you can always see what will be used. If you enter something in a field, it overrides the information from your company profile. The fields function independently of one another, so you can, for example, just edit the name and let the address be pulled from your company profile.

Do you have multiple online stores under the same company?

This is where you can handle that. If two stores share the same company profile and the same GLS agreement, return labels would otherwise display the same name for both stores. Fill in the “Sender Name” for each shop, and each shop will have its own name on the return label. The fields are saved per online store, so remember to set them up in both shops.

Note that these fields only apply to return labels. On regular shipping labels, the sender is taken from your GLS agreement—that is, the information GLS has on file for your Customer ID—and you can only change this by contacting GLS.

Option 2: Use GLS Uniconnect

If you prefer to print labels through GLS Uniconnect (a program installed on your computer), Shoporama can generate a file that you import into Uniconnect.

Contact GLS for assistance with setting up Uniconnect and importing the file.

Daily Use

With direct GLS integration, your daily workflow looks like this:

  1. Select the orders you want to ship
  2. Click "Send to GLS" to create the shipments with GLS
  3. Wait 10–60 seconds for the labels to be generated
  4. Click "Download GLS Shipping Labels" to download and print them
  5. Mark the orders as "Shipped"

Package Shop status is included

Once the API information is filled out, the package shop status is automatically activated on your orders, so you can track which packages are waiting for pickup at the package shop. Read more in How to Keep Track of Package Shop Pickups.
