Reverse related products
Understand the difference between related and unrelated products and how to set them up.
What are inversely related products?
Shoporama distinguishes between related products and inversely related products:
- Related products: The products you have chosen to show on this product's page. Set up under "Related products" on the product edit page.
- Reverse related products: Other products you want your product to appear on as related. In other words, you can choose to have your product appear as related on other products' pages.
For example.
You sell a cover (Product A) that fits a phone (Product B). With reverse related products, you can set Product A to appear as related on Product B's page - without having to edit Product B.
How to set it up
- Open the product you want to show as related (e.g. the cover).
- Go to the Reverse related tab.
- Search for and add the products you want your product to appear on (e.g. phone).
- Save the product.
Now the cover will automatically appear as a related product on your phone's product page.
When is it useful?
- Accessories that fit many products - set it up once from the accessory instead of editing each main product.
- New products you want to quickly display on existing product pages.
- Promotional products you want to temporarily highlight on other products.
